Metropolitan Cultural Center

The Metropolitan Cultural Center, commonly known as "The Metro", is one of the most modern and complete centers dedicated to art and culture in the country. The Metro is on par with the best cultural centers in the world. It is located in the Tampico port area and has over 27,000 square meters of construction.

The Metro has different areas dedicated to various activities, such as the Metropolitan Theater, Experimental Theater, Temporary Exhibitions Gallery, Performing Arts Workshops, Huasteca Culture Museum, and the Interactive Public Library.

Carpintero Lagoon

The Carpintero Lagoon is located in the middle of the city of Tampico and serves as an ecological reserve that protects the flora and fauna of the lagoon, mangroves, and coastline.

The lagoon is connected to the Pánuco River, and boat tours can be taken to explore the local wildlife, including turtles, iguanas, various bird species, and the main resident, the Mexican crocodile.

Metropolitan Park

The Metropolitan Park is located on the shores of Carpintero Lagoon and is a large green space for enjoying the outdoors and appreciating the beauty of the lagoon. The park has playgrounds for children, and boat rides on the lagoon and tram tours are offered.

Miramar Beach

Miramar is the most visited beach in Tampico, an ideal place to enjoy the sun and sea with family or friends. Miramar Beach attracts both tourists and locals. It is located 10 km from the city and has parking lots, restaurants, palapa and lounge chair rentals. Water sports such as kayaking, kite surfing, and windsurfing can also be practiced.

Boardwalk

The Boardwalk or The Breakwaters is located south of Miramar Beach. From here, you can observe dolphins approaching the coast. The Monument to the Fallen Sailors, which honors Mexican sailors from oil tankers sunk during World War II, is also located here.

Flower Pyramid

The Flower Pyramid is the work of the ancient inhabitants of Tampico, the Huasteco indigenous people who lived in the Pánuco River area between 600 and 1200 AD. The Pyramid is part of an archaeological site consisting of several buildings, and it stands as a testament to the pre-Hispanic cultures of the region.
